IPL VASCULAR TREATMENTS

Most common areas to treat are the nose and cheek areas.

Whether born with them or acquired over the course of lifetime, virtually everyone who reaches middle age gets there with one or more types of benign pigmented and superficial vascular lesions.

Different configurations to those that are utilized for hair removal are used to treat vascular conditions:

  • fine diffused redness
  • broken capillaries on a face; red or purple in colour and as clusters or strands
  • hemangiomas
  • telangiectasia - superficial cutaneous visible vessels 0.1 to 1.0mm in diameter, represented by dilated venule, capillary, or arteriole.
  • spider veins

The way it works is that IPL light is absorbed into the blood vessel and the heat damages its walls. The process causes a thermocoagulation of the blood vessels. The body then reabsorbs what’s left of the vessel along with its contents and replaces it with collagen.

What happens during IPL vascular?

IPL laser light targets individual spots and blood vessels whilst producing heat energy to the skin that stimulates cells to produce new collagen and skin tightening.

Your skin may feel quite warm and may have a stinging sensation like sunburnt skin, which will calm down over a couple of hours, this is a desired reaction as we want to successfully heat the skin to the point of having a successful effect on the target area.

After Care Guide

Following the treatment the laser clinician will recommend a sun block for daily wear.

Normal activity can be resumed and make up can be applied. There may be some slight redness or swelling for a few hours.

Hypopigmentation can occur in treated areas in dark skinned patients. Also persistent hyperpigmentation may also occur with premature sun exposure on facial areas and after treatment of vascular lesions on the leg. Fortunately, most hypopigmented areas resolve spontaneously within 6–12 months.

So it's very important to be treated by EXPEREINCED therapist who done IPL Vascular treatments on a regular basis. Not many Melbourne laser clinics and medispas can provide that.
